My name is Sergio JImenez. I'm a professional photographer born in Mexico City (Distrito Federal), but raised in a Chicano culture in Los Angees, CA.
I've been photographing since my late teens, first as a hobby and later as a profession. My main inspiraton comes from the Mexican Muralist painings of David Alfaro Siqueiros, Diego Rivera, and Juan O'Gorman, along with the photo journalism of Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Graciela Iturbide, Nacho Lopez, and Sebastiao Salgado, artists who portayed and captured the struggle of everyday life of the working class and the untold stories of a resistant culture.
I enjoy documenting labor struggles, social movements, and comunity events. But I also enjoy portraits of adults and children.
I am a 35mm & medium format junkie, fiber paper and darkroom enthusiast.
